Interdisciplinary Studies
Interdisciplinary studies is exactly what it sounds like; a study of many disciplines. These types of programs are useful for two main reasons:
1. It allows the student to figure out what fields of study interest them.
2. A springboard to a Master's degree. An Interdisciplinary degree won't prepare you for many jobs. It will, however, serve as an undergraduate degree to make you eligible for graduate school. By the time you graduate, you will have found out what academic pursuits interest you and you can Master in a more focussed area of study.
Of course an inter-disciplinary degree probably won't prepare you for law or medical school, but you can attend graduate school for any of the Humanities, Social Sciences, Liberal Arts, among others.
