Doctorate at Harvard University

Harvard University is very unique in the way it organizes its graduate programs.  Many programs at Harvard do not require a Master's degree for admission into a Doctoral program.  Students at Harvard often enroll in a Doctoral program right after completion of their undergraduate degree.

While some schools, like the Business School, still offer Master's degrees, others do not offer a Master's degree at all.  Instead, students enroll in a doctoral program and can be awarded a Master's after completing a certain amount of the curriculum.  Many schools, however, look down upon this and tend to dislike admitting students who only wish to pursue a Master's degree.
